Competitive sealed proposals for General Construction of the Carson County
War Memorial
located at 500 Main Street in Panhandle, Texas, 79068, will be
received by the Carson County Commissioners Court until 10:00 AM, local time,
Tuesday, October 9, 2007, then publicly opened and read aloud.  Proposals
shall be lump sum bids and addressed to

Carson County Commissioners Court,
501 Main Street, Panhandle, Texas 79068,
Attention:  Judge Lewis Powers.

Two sets of plans and specifications may be obtained from Stephen L. Butler, Architect, by qualified general contractors with a deposit of $100.00 per set.  Additional copies may be purchased upon receipt of an additional $100.00 per set to defray printing expense.  All checks for plans and specifications shall be made payable to  Stephen L. Butler, Architect . All plans and specifications shall be returned to the Architect.  All deposits shall be refunded in full if plans and specifications are returned in good condition to the Architect within ten (10) days after the proposal opening.

 

A pre-proposal meeting will be held at the jobsite at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.  All bidders are recommended to attend.

 

A cashier’s check, or acceptable bidder’s bond, payable to the Carson County, in the amount of 5% of the largest possible total for the bid submitted must accompany each proposal as a guarantee that, if awarded a contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and furnish the Owner with a Labor/Material and Payment/Performance bond in the amount of the contract sum.

 

If the Owner enters into a contract with the successful bidder, the Contractor shall be paid by the Owner monthly for work completed less a ten percent retainage and shall be paid in full upon the successful completion of the project.

 

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities or reject any or all proposals.

 

By submitting a proposal, the bidder agrees to waive any claim against Carson County  or Stephen L. Butler, Architect, made in connection with the administration, evaluation or recommendation of any proposal.

 

All proposals shall remain in effect for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of receipt unless sooner returned.
